10th Street Inn & Cottage Life Engagement (Activities) Program

At Southeast Colorado Hospital District’s 10th Street Inn and 10th Street Cottage, our Life Engagement Program is thoughtfully designed to enhance the quality of life for every resident. We focus on meaningful engagement, honoring cultural and religious values, and supporting the physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being of each individual. Our program is guided by both Federal and State regulations and is tailored to meet the unique needs and preferences of every resident.

Community Involvement: Resident Council meetings, community forums, and group discussions
Intellectual Stimulation: Current events discussions, book society, and educational talks

Our Philosophy
“The purpose of life engagement is not to pass the time, but to make time meaningful. It’s not about keeping someone busy—it’s about keeping them connected to life. Engagement is not an escape from life, but a discovery of all that life has to offer at every stage.”

Resident Council
The Resident Council meets monthly and is led by an elected group of residents, including a President, Vice President, Secretary, Historian, and Grievance Officer. These meetings provide a platform for residents to:
- Review and discuss facility policies
- Share feedback and concerns
