Southeast Colorado Hospital District Ambulance Service

Southeast Colorado Hospital (SECH) Ambulance Service is owned and operated by Southeast Colorado Hospital District and stationed in the Baca County seat of Springfield near the intersection of US Hwy 287 and US Hwy 160. SECH Ambulance Service is proud to regularly provide emergency medical and trauma services to the western part of Baca County, an area of approximately 1,900 square miles. This includes the towns of Springfield, Pritchett, and Campo as well as Two Buttes Reservoir. SECH Ambulance Service also periodically helps to provide coverage to the eastern part of Baca County as well as the edges of several neighboring counties - Prowers, Las Animas and Bent. In addition, SECH Ambulance Service provides transfer services from SECHD to higher level hospitals out of the area and from these hospitals back to SECHD.
The Emergency Medical Services professionals at SECH Ambulance Service offer 911 coverage, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year-regardless of time, weather, or holidays. Uniquely, the staff of SECH Ambulance Service are primarily a group of “home grown” individuals trained from the level of First Responders to Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) to Paramedics. Their sole purpose is to provide high-quality and compassionate care to those in need within our service area. On average, our EMS service has about 500 requests for service each year which includes 911 responses, standbys, interfacility transports (IFT) and ALS intercepts.
