Assistant to the CFO/ Accountant - Fiscal
PURPOSE FOR THE POSITION: Assists the C.F.O. with financial and business activities associated with hospital policies and objectives. To process, pay and follow up on invoices and other business office functions as assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Responsible to process invoices coming into the facility- reviewing, processing, and paying invoices, accordingly, using appropriated expense codes.
• Assist with general accounting services, including financial and statistical reporting functions which includes assist with research, compilation, and review of data for new financial reports by department, reconcile banking statements for the district, coordinate check disbursement and resolution of problems.
• Assists with preparation of the operating budget. Monitor performance against budgets and assist in the analysis of variances.
• Reconcile, analyze, and adjust general ledger accounts as necessary.
• Maintain accurate detail in support of the general ledger account balances.
• Assist in the development of long range and short range operational and capital budgets which are supported by the hospital’s plans and objectives.
• Assist department managers in the development of departmental budgets.
• Assist department managers with cash flow and budget variances.
• Assist with overseeing and maintaining internal accounting controls and other business office functions.
• Assist in the preparation of internal reports for Hospital Board each month.
• Attends meetings and in-service sessions as required.
• Regular attendance and punctuality.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Required Education and Experience

• A Certificate in Accounting or 3 years of accounting experience.

Preferred Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is preferred

Additional Eligibility Qualifications
• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Hourly Wage: $17.08 - $21.10 per/hour
