Mr. Viney has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the Medical College of Georgia and completed his Family Nurse Practitioner degree at Southern Adventist University. Mr. Viney is one of less than 300 nurse practitioners dual nationally certified as both a Family and ER Nurse Practitioner. Mr. Viney has significant experience in ER and Critical Care in inner city trauma centers and has started the first outpatient clinic for opioid recovery in a Kansas Rural Health Clinic led by an Advance Practice Provider and is certified to prescribe Suboxone / Buprenorphine for addiction recovery.

Biography:

Melvin Viney grew up in rural West Virginia on a farm in an area with very limited medical services. He joined the US ARMY after high school. After enlistment, he earned an Associate’s degree, and then a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and finished his Family Nurse Practitioner degree along with medical specialty certifications.

Mr. Viney has many hobbies and interests and even worked full time as a caddie at Augusta National Golf Course (The Masters) while he attended the Medical College of Georgia.
